In the last post we’ve talked about the difference between contouring and bronzing. Now that we know it, we’ll elaborate on how to improve your face makeup by giving you more tips on that. We’ll talk about highlighter, blush and how your face makeup products can shape your face.

Light point placement
We’ve talked about them in the post on how to improve your eye makeup. On the face, they are your cheekbone, the bridge of your nose and your cupid’s arch on your lip. Highlighting your cupid’s arch is optional, and a lot of people don’t highlight it.
Make sure to take a highlighter that dosn’t contrast your undertone. For those who are olive, a light champagne coloured highlighter works nicely because it’s not too warm. For your cheekbones, a fan-shaped brush should do the job, but for the bridge of your nose you might prefer a more precise brush.

Blush placement
Maybe you didn’t know this, but the way you place your blush can completely change your face shape. If you want to take a few years off your face or give it a lift, you have to keep reading on.
One of the tips to improve your face makeup drastically is: change the way you put your blush on. Instead of putting it on the apples of your cheek, apply your blush in the area between your contour and your highlighter. If your face is round, and you want to make it seem longer, you should definitely try this trick. You should only apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks if you want to make your face appear rounder.

Bonus tips to improve your face makeup
One of the reasons for which your foundation looks cakey is because you haven’t taken care of how to apply it properly. Apply your foundation on a brush to just make sure it’s on your face, and then make sure to diffuse it with a damp sponge. In this way, your foundation will look more natural as it has been pressed, not rubbed, onto the skin.
Also make sure you choose a good concealer: it’s meant to conceal, not reveal. If you have a lot of redness, you’ll want to apply a peach coloured concealer and blend it onto your skin. That way the coverage will seem a bit more natural too. You can also apply your foundation on top, but for maximum coverage, use a concealer close to your skin tone on top. Then, apply your foundation.
To have a more natural effect, choose buildable products: this way, you can create the coverage you need by yourself, without looking like a cake face.
In order to set your concealer, grab yourself a translucent setting powder. If you feel it emphasises your texture more, then skip that and use a setting spray instead.
