The easiest skincare routine ever

Have you ever come home from work or an evening out, too tired to do your 10-step skincare routine? You’re not alone. In this post, you will get to know the quickest and the easiest skincare routine ever. And it works as well. Another bonus? You only need 4 products:

  1. A makeup remover
  2. A cleanser
  3. A moisturiser
  4. A sunscreen (preferably with SPF 50)

AM – Morning routine

Firstly, you will want to clean your face off the invisible dirt that could be lurking on your pillow when you sleep using a cleanser. If your skin is dry, you will want to go for a cleansing milk (or similar) which is a bit more hydrating. If it’s on the oily side, you want a thicker, more gel-like formula. It won’t create a lot of lather, but it will leave your skin feeling nice and clean.

Then you’ll use a moisturiser to hydrate your skin. Go for a thick and rich formula of your skin is dry, and if your skin is oily then go for something a bit more liquid. Do this step, because you want your skin feeling smooth and supple all day.

This last step for the morning routine is the most important one, because this protects your skin against photographic aging (basically looking older than your real age) and against skin cancer. Never forget to use it in summer because it will also protect you against sunburns too!

You are done, and if you want to do your makeup, you can apply it next. Try letting your SPF “sit” on the skin for at least 5 minutes, so it doesn’t interfere with your makeup application afterwards.

PM – Evening routine

If you have done your makeup, then remove it with a makeup remover. The most common one is micellar water: rinse your face with water after you have used it.

Start of with your cleanser to remove all the pollution and dust from the day, and also to get rid of any makeup that has escaped the remover. Use the same one from the morning routine if the instructions on the packaging allow to.

Then apply the moisturiser (you can go for the same one you have used in the morning) to give your skin a bit of relief. After all, it needs some replenishing after being exposed to all that whatnot from the day!

That’s it. You don’t really need all those masks and exfoliators and serums, just the four products above (3 if you don’t wear makeup) if you are worried about breaking the bank. If, eventually, you need to cut down on your skincare essentials for when you are travelling, then this is what you absolutely have to carry with you.

And here ends the first Beauty post, but there will be more to come.
