Spring colour analysis: subgroups and colours

As said in the last post, I will be using the 4-seasons-4-subgroups approach. As said before, there are 4 subgroups in the Spring season. But before that, let’s see what the Spring colour season is in detail, what are the 4 subgroups in Spring colour analysis and what colours suit each.

This is the Spring seasonal colour palette.

As you can see, the Spring season is characterised by warm and particularly bright and radiant colours. This season should definitely avoid cool, toned and shaded colours as they can they can make such a radiant complexion dull. As I go through each subgroup, I’ll also include their colour palettes so you can have an idea of which colours you can wear and eventually “steal” off other seasons.

Characteristics of the Spring person

The Spring person has a very radiant complexion with a warm undertone (or a neutral one that leans warm). As there are lots of hair colours and lots of eye colours, this season is very varied. They have a warm undertone and suit yellow metals best. A common yellow metal is gold. Now, we’ll see what the Spring subgroups are in colour analysis, and the colour palettes for each one. In the picture below, I have put the typical Spring hair and eye colours, but do note that these are not necessarily the only ones.

The Spring seasonal subgroups

True Spring

This is also known as Pure or Absolute Spring. Their hair can be any colour between light blonde and medium brown. Usually, golden and honey coloured highlights tend to look good on the darker hair colours. A True Spring’s eyes can be blue-green, green, or an almost hazel green. In this last case, they often have very light hair and their face gives a warm golden impression. Their skin tone can be anywhere form light to dark, with yellow or golden undertones. Since they have no dominant colour aspect, they can wear absolutely any Spring colour they like.

Warm Spring

Their hair is dark blonde to medium brown, or even red. They have blue-green, green, and almost hazel green hazel. Their skin tone is between light and medium, with yellow or golden undertones. It’s also not rare for them to have freckles either. On the seasonal colour spectrum, it leads to Warm Autumn.

Bright Spring

This seasonal subgroup borders with Bright Winter, so those who are in this subgroup can steal the warmer colours in the Winter subgroup. A Bright Spring’s hair ranges from dark golden blonde to a brown-black. Their eyes are gem blue or gem green. Also, a Bright Spring’s skin tone can range from fair to dark, with a warm or neutral-warm (warm-leaning) undertone. It leads into Bright Winter, so you can steal the lighter colours from there if you are in this group.

Light Spring

This Spring seasonal subgroup is leads to Light Summer. Their hair is often blonde. Their eyes are often blue or green. They have a fair to medium skin tone, with neutral-warm undertones.
